Erup Biography
Mr. Kevin Saunders, aka Erup, was born in the volatile East Kingston community of Rockfort, Jamaica. He attended Norman Gardens All Age School and concluded his secondary education at Donald Quarrie High School. Early in life, he grasped the fundamental lessons of self-discipline, dedication and determination. It was these same lessons that he applies to his everyday life. Erup was destined to be an accomplished artist, whom excels in all arenas of the arts.
Inspired by the great all-time icons of Reggae and Dancehall music, such as Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Dennis Brown, and Shabba Ranks to name a few, Erup soon found his calling and began to embark on a career in music as early as 1993. It was his smooth lyrical delivery reinforced with his ability to achieve against all odds, which made him stand out from the rest. On his way to a successful career, Erup worked with „357‟, Mario C and a plethora of renowned producers, to include Bravo & Perry and Andy Livingston who released Erup‟s first LP entitled Caan Trick Mi Up. His thirst for music intensified and he perfected his skills, becoming a viable contender.
In 2005, Ricardo “Bibi” Gardener and a body of companions, including Erup, came together and created the label Heart of Love Promotions. Bibi saw the potential in this budding artist, and Erup soon became the prodigy of this entertainment syndicate. Proving his worth Erup produced and released a single called Mama Great in the Fall of 2006. Shortly after he released the instant hit song Gal Run Dem Head, making himself and Heart of Love Promotions a global household name.
The newest creation by Erup, along with other companions, is a recording company entitled FULLY GOVERN. Erup‟s album The Classic is scheduled to be released soon with collaborations of some of Reggae and Dancehall music‟s predominant artists and producers. His time is much spent in the studio recording. Spreading his love and inspiration, Erup is currently performing both in Jamaica and Internationally. Erup has, like so many before him, encountered extreme hardship and tremendous struggle throughout his musical journey, however, he keeps a positive outlook on his bright future.
