D'Angel Biography

The beautiful, indisputably talented and confident, Michelle Downer aka D’Angel, was born and raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica. As a successful business woman, recording artiste and mother, D’Angel is the epitome of a true Caribbean woman, possessing a spirit and drive to keep striving for excellence in whatever her endeavors. D’Angel is also a proud role model for young women, other aspiring female singers and business women.

Before D’Angel took her rightful place in the music fraternity, she built a name for herself in the fashion industry as a model and graced the runways of various brands including Roca Wear. Despite a progressive modeling career and being the proprietor of a lucrative fashion boutique, D’Angel's ultimate love and dream was for that of music and singing. Her experiences would only serve to prepare her for a bigger stage and to shine in brighter spotlights.

After stepping into the music industry and taking it by storm, her hard work led to the break-out, smash hit “Downtown Girl Living Uptown” in 2005. By 2006, D’Angel collaborated with Grammy Award winning Jamaican artist Beenie Man and the hit “One Man” was created. Since then she has released various songs and even teamed up with a host of other internationally noted artists such as Vybz Kartel, Sean Kingston and DJ Unk just to name a few. Her music can be defined as a dancehall, reggae and pop fusion, though her musical talent is not limited to merely those genres. She is excited to diversify her work and remains steadfast in exploring and maximizing all possible avenues.

    • Regardless of the type of music, whether she sing-jay, deejay or delivers a beautiful ballad, D’Angel’s songs address the issue of empowering women, children, and the community. She is currently focused on preparing her upcoming album and performances.
