CL Ka$h Biography
Christina Lynn, better known by her stage name CL Kash, is an American rapper, ghostwriter, and actress. CL Kash was born in Harlem, New York but was raised in the Bronx. She attended Lehman High School and Mercy College for Music & Business Management where she received a BA degree. The phenomenal and versatile upcoming artist grew up with both parents along with her siblings. The Bronx, which nurtured and embraced rap, was where CL Kash began her fierce beginnings.
By 1997, CL Kash expressed her serious love for rap music. She was exposed to the industry by her father whom was a bodyguard for various celebrities including Usher, Lil Mo, Missy Elliot, Beenie Man, Doug E Fresh, Shyne, Faith Evans, Ashanti, Bounty Killer, Vybe Kartel, 112, Lil Kim, 50 Cent, Jay Z, Fabulous, and was even Sean Combs personal bodyguard for over 10 years. Surrounded by the industry elite, CL Kash felt that her father would play a key role in launching her career. However, to her surprise, her father was undeniably against his youngest daughter rapping for he thought the industry would tear her apart. Determined to become a rapper, CL Kash continued to pursue her career in music on her own.
Now managed by Mr. Darryl David, CEO of Game on Lock, LLC and signed to Get That Cheddar (GTC) Entertainment label (a major indie label), CL Kash is destined to be an artist to watch out for. Making her way up the rising star ladder, CL Kash’s music and raps come with a lot of versatility and various messages. Her debut single, Bondage, is a catchy song with infection rhythm. Recently performing her smash hit at the annual HOT ’97 Stop The Violence Concert gave the audience a chance to experience CL Kash up close and personal. The vibe she received was positive. CL Kash is focused on creating music that fans will come to appreciate. She notes that “there's no such thing as me not making music. I dream about my music every day. My reality is music and music is me!”
According to her peers, some say CL Kash has always been a loner with big plans for music. Her rapping is all she has ever known - from rapping on buses and during school trips to battling anybody that dares to step into her arena. During an interview, CL Kash was asked what inspires her to rap and her answer is “to be able to express my feelings and life experience through the music in hope that I can inspire others.” CL Kash was one of the youngest female MC's to be noticed in Harlem. The late Big L, noticing her skills, told her “never give up because you have a gift.” Those who inspires CL Kash musically includes the late Big L, Tupac and Notorious Big, Jay-Z, Eminem, and Kanye West. Authors who inspire CL Kash are Stephen King, Robert Green, Sun Tzu and Maya Angelou. Philanthropists who inspire CL Kash are Bill Gates and Oprah Winfrey. CL Kash’s biggest inspiration comes from taking care of her son who is autistic. Although it is a challenging role, CL Kash feels every experience is an avenue that she can express through her music.
